Turmeric starch is extracted from organic glutinous turmeric roots, cultivated under VietGAP standards in Hoa Binh – a mountainous region blessed with a mild climate and four distinct seasons. The clean air and fresh water there create ideal conditions for growing high-quality turmeric. This turmeric belongs to the rare variety Curcuma longa Linn, which is harvested only once a year. Despite its low productivity, it contains 3–4 times more curcumin than other varieties, with a curcumin content ranging from 0.9–1.3%. After harvesting, the turmeric roots are washed, pureed, mixed with water, filtered, and refined several times using modern technology to extract the maximum amount of curcumin essence. The final product is dried and formed into small, light yellow pellets that dissolve easily in water. |
